General Comments
On Sunday, we will have a guest preacher join us for worship, our Area Conference Minister, the Rev. Dr. Michael Ciba. Michael is the staff person from our conference, the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ, who assists churches in our region and helps connect us with conference resources. Michael was our Area Conference Minister a couple conference staff configurations ago, so some of you have already met him. Part of his job is visiting and preaching in churches in his region to build connections and relationships, so I’m glad Michael will be joining us this week.
The beautiful weather has me thinking of this poem by E.E. Cummings, and I wanted to share it with you as my parting thought for today:
“i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any–lifted from the no
of all nothing–human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)”
See you Sunday in person or online.
Peace,
Pastor Katrina
