At its annual meeting on January 31, 2021, Middlebury Congregational Church voted unanimously to withdraw from the Naugatuck Valley Association and seek to join the Litchfield South Association of the United Church of Christ. Regional associations are organized among peer churches to support local ministries and pastors.
